About Farciennes
Farciennes is a Walloon municipality located within the Belgian province of Hainaut. On January 1, 2006, Farciennes had a complete population of 11,099. The overall location is 10.39 km² which offers a population density of 1,069 population per km². It is positioned at the entre-Sambre-et-Meuse within the outer edge of Charleroi. In the beyond, Farciennes became an business town.
It declined with the closure of the ultimate Walloon coal mine, specifically the Sainte-Catherine shaft of the Roton agency, and the fall of the iron and steel industries, previously big employers inside the place among Liege and Charleroi. Today, the website online of Roton, of which simplest the tower and the cloakroom remain, has been developed to accommodate small and medium-sized organizations. Since the merger of the communes of 1977, the small commune of Pironchamps changed into included into Farciennes.
