About Chateau de Louvignies
Chateau de Louvignies is a fortress located 6 kilometers from Soignies, in Hainaut Province of Belgium. It became unique as the seat of a lordship in 1389 and become acquired in 1716 by using the Governor of Charleroi, Rodrigo de Peralta, who built a citadel surrounded by using a moat. In 1767, the shape become modernized with a basement addition, a tower and a ground ground stuccoed room embellished to 18th-century tastes. In 1798, via marriage, the fort have become the stronghold of the Villegas Family.
The English lawn, designed on the plan of a park became created in May, 1834 via C. Th. Petersen, in all likelihood at the request of Balthazar de Villegas. It have become the house of Count Leon de Villegas de Saint-Pierre when he gave up a diplomatic profession to emerge as mayor of Chaussee Notre Dame Louvignies after his marriage in 1868 to Marie-Ferdinande de Maillin. In 1870 the Count started out a massive renovation of the property, hiring Desire Limbourg because the architect to renovate the homes and Louis Fuchs, because the panorama architect.
