Smarhoń

Smarhon’ or Smorgon is a metropolis inside the Grodno Region of Belarus. It become the site of Smarhon’ air base, now generally deserted. Smarhon’ is located 107 km from the capital, Minsk. In the early seventeenth century it become established in Grand Duchy of Lithuania however in 1793 surpassed on to Russia as a part of the Russian Pale of Settlement. Until the mid nineteenth century, Smarhon’ become a non-public property of the Radziwill family with maximum of its populace being Jewish.
