About Ivanava
Ivanava is a city within the Brest Region of Belarus, an administrative center of the Ivanava district. First referred to in the 14th century, first of all it turned into a village named Porkhovo. In 1423 it become granted via the king Wladysław Jagiełło to the cathedral in Lutsk. Renamed to Janow, in 1465 it became granted with city rights. A small city in Polesia, it shared the destiny of the area. On May sixteen, 1657 it turned into the seat of the martyrdom of Saint Andrzej Bobola.
