About Biaroza
Biaroza is a metropolis of 31, 000 population in Western Belarus in Brest Region and the administrative center of the Byaroza District. The village of Biaroza became first referred to in 1477 as part of the Slonim paviet. In the 15th century, the village in all likelihood received the town constitution. Between 1538 and 1600 it became an crucial centre of Calvinism. Later the city became the private belongings of the Radziwiłł circle of relatives. In the seventeenth century, the village belonged to Sapieha family,
who founded a fortified monastery and a palace here. In 1648, the monastery become offered to the Carthusian monks, who came from the Italian metropolis of Treviso and settled right here. The pope Alexander VII granted the name of a prince to Lew Sapieha, being grateful for the noble deed. The monastery become also elevated and became one in every of the largest charterhouses within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Carthusian order gave its call to the second part of the city’s call in the shape in which it's been used till overdue Forties: Biaroza Kartuzskaya.
