Needhams Point Lighthouse
About Needhams Point Lighthouse
Needham's Point Lighthouse is a beacon situated in the southwest bank of Barbados. Needham's Point beacon is one of four still existent notable beacons in Barbados. Not at all like the others have it had a stationary as opposed to turning beacon. The octagonal beacon was developed in 1855 at the southern end of Carlisle Bay. It is as of now non-practical and incompletely reestablished by the Hilton Hotel which claims the beacon and encompassing grounds.
In view of the nearness of a substantial square of rooms, the beacon must be seen from the shoreline toward the south of the lodging. Amid its time of dynamic utilize the beacon's central plane remained at 43 ft/13 m and flashed at an 8-second interval. Owing to the stationary idea of the lights the beacon focal point was half red and half green to enable mariners to know whether they were port or starboard side of Carlisle Bay.
