About Carlisle Bay
Carlisle Bay is a little regular harbor situated in the southwest area of Barbados. The island country's capital, Bridgetown, is arranged on this sound, which has been moved toward a marine park. Carlisle Bay's marine park is a prominent spot on the island for scuba plunging. Numerous relics, similar to grapples and cannonballs, from boats can be found on the sea floor in Carlisle Bay. The straight takes its name from Barbados' second Lord Proprietor, James Hay, first Earl of Carlisle.
Master Carlisle asserted the island through Royal allow for the benefit of King Charles I of England in 1627. Carlisle Bay is home to one of Barbados memorable beacons the Needham's Point Lighthouse. Amid the Second World War a British ship, the Cornwallis, was torpedoed by a German U-Boat, at this area. Carlisle Bay is a bow formed straight and common harbor on the west bank of Barbados. As the fundamental harbor bordering the capital city Bridgetown, Carlisle Bay was once brimming with vendor's vessels, especially those of the British. Carlisle Bay is named after the Earl of Carlisle, James Hay, who was Lord Proprietor of Barbados in the 1600's. The sound lies in the core of an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
