Sherpur is a locale in focal Bangladesh. It is a piece of Mymensingh Division. Sherpur area was a sub-division of Jamalpur region. It was moved up to a region on February 22, 1984. Sherpur city is situated around 198 km north of Dhaka which is the capital of the country. Sherpur area was a piece of the kingdom of the Kamarupa in the old time.
