Fatikchhari

Fatikchhari is an Upazila of Chittagong District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is one of the biggest Upazilas of Bangladesh. It is a fruitful valley between the Sitakunda Hills and the Hills of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. These two slope ranges turned out to be one at the northernmost purpose of the upazila and they enlarge separated as they continue southwards. There is no specific geological place in the Upazila called Fatickchari, rather the whole upazila takes its name from one little all-season waterway known as Fatickchari Khal that starts in the Sitakund Hills on the West and enters the Upazila at Bhujpur Union before joining the River Halda, the longest stream in Fatikchhari Upazila that goes through the upazila along nearly its whole length.

Dhurung is its second longest waterway. There are some little streams beginning from the slopes both on the eastern and western flanks, all being tributaries of the Halda streaming southwards to the ocean. Among them are Gazaria, Fatickchari, Baramasia, Mandakini, Balukhali and so on. In the middle of the two slope ranges, Fatickchari comprises of level farmland every year influenced by blaze surges caused by overwhelming precipitation in the uneven catchment territories and the water being depleted by a few little waterways and the Halda. It is encompassed by Tripura toward the north, Hathazari and Kawkhali upazila toward the south, Ramgarh, Manikchhari, Lakshmichhari, and Raozan upazilas on the east, Mirsharai and Sitakunda upazilas on the west.
