About Chittagong Zoo
Chittagong Zoo is a zoo in Chittagong, Bangladesh. With a region of 6 sections of land, it is situated around three kilometers north-east of the city, nearby at the passage of Foy's lake, inverse the lower regions of the mountains of USTC Medical College. In 1988, MA Mannan, previous Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong locale and some different elites of the city, at first stepped up with regards to build up a private zoo at Foy's lake with the end goal of diversion, training and research on zoo animals. It is arranged at sloping place that is known for Foy's lake, South-Khulshi, Chittagong.
Afterward, on February 8, 1989 the zoo was opened for the visitors. Initially 4.90 sections of land of land was allotted by the Bangladesh Government, which a short time later expanded to 6 acres. Initially there were 5 distinct species and aggregate number of creatures were 23. After that the aggregate number of species has been expanded to 67, among them 32 are Mammals, 28 are Birds and rest of 7 are Reptiles inside the aggregate number of creatures were 367.
