Adamdighi

Adamdighi Upazila is an upazila of Bogra District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Adamdighi Thana was built up in 1821 and was changed over into an upazila in 1983. It is named after its managerial focus, the town of Adamdighi. The name gets from Adam's Dighi, which implies Adam's Tank. Adam was an extraordinary Muslim holy person or dervish, known as Baba Adam.

Baba Adam is extremely prevalent among the general population of the region, and directions as much regard from Hindus as from Muslims. Baba Adam is said to have been a contemporary of the well known Rani Bhabani of Natore, it's identity stated, with her qualities unselfishness had a tank burrowed at the place and committed it to the pious fakir out of appreciation for his extraordinary forces. This tank, which is an expansive, regardless one bears the name of the fakir as Adamdighi or the Adam's Tank.

Adamdighi Upazila has an aggregate region of 168.83 square kilometers. It is the westernmost upazila of Bogra District. It outskirts Joypurhat District toward the north, Dhupchanchia Upazila toward the north and east, Kahaloo and Nandigram upazilas toward the east, and Naogaon District toward the south and west. Adamdighi Upazila is partitioned into Santahar Municipality and six association parishads: Adamdighi Sadar, Chapapur, Chhatiangram, Kundugram, Nashratpur, and Santahar. The association parishads are subdivided into 100 mauzas and 179 villages. Santahar Municipality is subdivided into 9 wards and 35 mahallas.
