Kalbacar

Kalbajar District, is a district of Azerbaijan. Kalbajar is a Turkic word meaning Castle at the mouth of the river. The entire area is now beneath the manage of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh, making up a part of the province of Shahumyan Region. Azeri population of Kalbajar were displaced through the fighting and presently stay as internally displaced persons in other areas of Azerbaijan.
