About Zwettl
Zwettl is a metropolis and district capital of the Austrian kingdom of Lower Austria. It is chiefly referred to as the place of Zwettl Abbey, first cited in October 1139. The call originates from Slavic "svetla" meaning "glade". Although the etymology indicates an early populace of Slavic human beings no archeological evidence has been located yet.
