About Thonetschlossl
Thonetschlossl is a symmetric building with 3 floors. The constructing’s structure became especially motivated through the Late-Baroque style. Currently the Thonetschlossl houses the museum of Modling, a city in Niederosterreich. In 1931 Johann Baptist Verda von Verdenberg donated a Capuchin monastery to Modling.
In 1683 the monastery were given destroyed due to the Turkish War, however ultimately it were given rebuilt in 1684. Two years later, in 1686, the monastery turned into offered by means of Giacomo Caliano, who used the monastery so one can produce silk and towels. From 1806 to 1821 the monastery became used for chemical bleaching, but became a place for a theater in a while. In 1833 the monastery became sold via the entomologist Ernst Heeger, who continued to use the monastery as a silk manufacturing unit. A few years later, in 1845, the countess Eise von Salm, who was a member of the Liechtenstein extended family, have become the new proprietor of the monastery. She decided to rebuild the constructing a good way to let it appear like a fortress. In 1889 the Thonet family bought the fortress like building, subsequently the call Thonetschlossl.
