About Petersfriedhof Salzburg
The Petersfriedhof is next to the cemetery of the monastery Nonnberg the oldest Christian burial ground in Salzburg. Due to its vicinity at the foot of the rock of the castle mountain and its picturesque surroundings, which opens up new perspectives again and again, the Petersfriedhof became a favorite subject of painting and poetry of the 19th century.

The oldest surviving tombstone of this cemetery is that of Abbot Dietmar.
