About Lower Austria Museum
The Lower Austria Museum, previously the Lower Austria State Museum, is the national museum for the country of Lower Austria and covers the fields of history, artwork and nature. It is located in St. Polten in Lower Austria. Before it moved to St. Polten in 2002, the museum, which become founded in 1902 by using the Association for Cultural Studies, occupied several locations in Vienna. For example, in the length 1912-1923 it became based totally in Wallnerstraße and, from 1923 to 1997, it changed into housed in the Palais Mollard-Clary.
On the established order of the new kingdom capital of St. Polten, the country museum became transferred to the cultural location it represents. It become built from 1686 to 1689 for Count Mollard. In 1760, it was offered via Count Franz Wenzel von Clary-Aldringen. Emperor Joseph II held his famous "spherical tables" right here. Since 2005 it's been utilized by the Austrian National Library and houses the Globe Museum, the Department of Music and the Department of Planned Languages and Esperanto Museum.
