About Laxenburg castles
Laxenburg castles are imperial palaces and castles out of doors Vienna, inside the city of Laxenburg, Lower Austria. The castles have become a Habsburg possession in 1333 and formerly served as a summer retreat, along side Schönbrunn palace, for the imperial Habsburg dynasty. Blauer Hof Palace become the birthplace of a few individuals of the royal family, along with Crown Prince Rudolf. Another fortress nearby is named Franzensburg fortress.
Today the castles are used for events, meetings, and live shows. The castles also acts as a museum in keeping the numerous art work and furniture contained within. Old Laxenburg Castle became a Habsburg ownership in 1333 and become extended inside the seventeenth century by Lodovico Burnacini. The Blauer Hof or Neues Schloss was built around 1745 in the course of the reign of empress Maria Theresa and has a Rococo interior. The church of Laxenburg, which become the first constructing north of the Alps containing swung facade additives was constructed among 1693 and 1703 by means of Carlo Antonio Carlone and continued between 1703 and 1724 with the aid of Matthias Steinl.
