About Kaiservilla
The Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, Upper Austria, become the summer time residence of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria, called Sisi. The mansion is presently the residence in their top notch-grandson Archduke Markus Emanuel Salvator. Originally the palace turned into a Biedermeier villa belonging to a Viennese notary named Josef August Eltz. In 1850 it was bought via Dr Eduard Mastalier. After Franz Joseph's engagement to Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria in 1853, Franz Joseph's mother, Princess Sophie of Bavaria, purchased the villa as a wedding gift for the couple. In next years, the villa become altered and increased in a Neoclassical fashion via Antonio Legrenzi.
The extant relevant element became elevated towards the park and the originally posterior part of the residence become converted to shape the entrance with Classical columns and tympana. Two extra wings have been built, giving the constructing the overall form of an "E". The villa is surrounded by a massive park within the "English Style". The architectural ensemble in its present day shape become finished in 1860. Construction was considerably slowed through the truth that it could not continue during the summer season months due to the presence of the royal circle of relatives.
