Danube Auen National Park
About Danube Auen National Park
Donau Auen National Park covers 93 rectangular kilometres in Vienna and Lower Austria and is one of the most important remaining floodplains of the Danube in Middle Europe. The German phrase Aue approach river island, wetland, floodplain, riparian wooded area, i.E. A cultivated panorama in a riparian sector.
The phrases Aue and Au arise in a large number of German area names which includes Donau, the German phrase for the Danube River and consult with forests, meadows, and wetlands in river and flow lowlands and floodplains. The Danube Auen National Park protects a large area of lowland forests, meadows, wetlands, and other riparian habitat along the Danube just downstream of Vienna. Until the 19th century the Danube changed into an untamed river. In the 19th century, considerable engineering started to modify the natural balance of the river panorama dramatically. Many aspect-channels had been dammed so they now convey water from the Danube handiest at flood ranges. Ever greater intrusive engineering interventions were followed by way of decades of heavy forestry use in many elements of lowland forests.
