About Old Kilmore Gaol
The Old Kilmore Gaol is a bluestone constructing in Kilmore, Victoria. It was at first constructed as a gaol and is positioned at 8 to 12 Sutherland Street. Old Kilmore Gaol turned into built in 1857 underneath the supervision of Charles Pasley. It become a gaol from 1859 till 1891 while it became decommissioned and used as a butter manufacturing unit. In the 1960 it became a personal home and became a eating place inside the 1990 before reverting again to a non-public domestic in 2004.
Today, the gaol is used for industrial purposes. Its bluestone partitions and exterior look are the best unique features which have been retained. It seems at the Heritage Council of Victoria's Victorian Heritage Database, for being "one in all a small organization of early Victorian prisons to be constructed outdoor of Melbourne" and "for its lengthy use as a centre of dairy manufacturing and distribution and for its contribution to Kilmore's uncommon institution of Basalt public homes" and is listed on the Register of the National Estate.
