Laurel Bank Park is a beautiful 4.5 hectare parkland in Toowoomba's city centre, proposing remarkable manicured gardens, a scented garden, a set of distinctive timber, a playground, picnic vicinity, gazebo and croquet greens. With its sublime spring presentations and avenues of cherry blossoms, it's miles most magnificent for the duration of Carnival of Flowers each September. The Scented Gardens, are a 'garden within a garden' produced from thoughts supplied by means of the Downs Association of the Blind, and function fragrant blooms, herbs and shrubs in raised beds.
The park got here into being in 1932 while Darling Downs Building Society Managing Director, Mr Samuel George Stephens, donated the land to the human beings of Toowoomba, with the City Council respectable custodian. He asked that plants be provided to Toowoomba Hospital and that the land be retained as a park and no longer used as a sporting facility, excluding the Croquet Greens along Herries Street. Laurel Bank Hall become built throughout World War II and used as a multitude corridor for United States naval troops. This is very lovely vacationer spot.
