First Coat Studios

First Coat Studios is placed in Toowoomba. First Coat Studios changed into initially installed as Kontraband Studios in 2012 as part of a nearby hybrid arts collective, the GRID. It started as an aerosol arts substances and apparel shop, quickly accelerated into a screen printing studio and exhibition space. By July 2013, Kontraband Studios had formed at the Laurel St premises and after three months of renovations, launched as an art gallery and shared creative studio.

The trio of Directors introduced their first public art festival, First Coat in February 2014; celebrating Toowoomba for it's vibrant arts community. Since its inception, the studio has regularly facilitated public artwork projects, hosted monthly exhibitions and curated community activities. Five years on, they have developed to provide extra artist studios and a committed workshop area. Through this, the gallery and outside portray space has remained a regular; supplying ordinary possibilities to showcase new work. This may be very lovely traveler spot.
