About Zvartnots Cathedral
Ztnots Cathedral is a seventh-century midway arranged aisled tetraconch type Armenian basilica worked by the request of Catholicos Nerses the Builder from 643-652. Presently in ruins, it is situated at the edge of the city of Vagharshapat Etchmiadzin in Armavir Province of Armenia. Ztnots was worked when a lot of Armenia had quite recently as of late been invade by the Muslim Arabs who were dynamically possessing the Sasanian Persia/Iran of which Armenia was a section at the time. Development of the house of God started in 643 under the direction of Catholicos Nerses III nicknamed Shinogh or the Builder.

As per the medieval Armenian student of history Movses Kaghankatvatsi, the basilica was blessed in 652. From 653 to 659, Nerses was in Tayk and the development of the house of prayer proceeded under Anastas Akoratsi. Following the Arab control of Dvin and the increasing wars between the Byzantine and Arab armed forces on the previous' eastern fringes, Nerses exchanged the man centric castle of the Catholicos from Dvin to Ztnots.
