Saghmosavank
About Saghmosavank
The Saghmosavank is a thirteenth-century Armenian religious complex situated in the town of Saghmosavan in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Like the Hovhannavank religious community which is five kilometers south, Saghmosavank is arranged on the abrupt chasm cut by the Kasagh stream. Their outlines command the contiguous towns and rise sharply against the foundation of the mountains delegated by Mount Aragats.
The fundamental structures of the religious communities raised by Prince Vache Vachutyan—the Church of Zion in Saghmosavank 1215 and the Church of Karapet in Hovhannavank have a place with a similar kind of cross-winged domed structure with two-story adds in every one of the edges of the building. Subcupola space prevails in the insides of both houses of worship, which is reflected in the outside states of these structures.
