Geghard

The cloister of Geghard and the Upper Azat Valley contains ious houses of worship and tombs, the vast majority of them cut into the living rock, which shows Armenian medieval engineering at its most noteworthy point. The complex of medieval structures is set into a scene of extraordinary characteristic magnificence, at the passageway to the Azat Valley.

High precipices from the northern side encompass the complex while the cautious divider encloses the rest. The landmarks incorporated into the property are dated from the fourth to the thirteenth century. At the early period, the Monastery was called Ayrivank Monastery in the Cave in light of its stone cut development.
