About Erebuni Museum

Erebuni Museum was set up in 1968. The opening of the exhibition hall was coordinated to match with the 2750th commemoration of Yerevan. The Museum remains at the foot of the Arin Berd slope, over which the Urartian Fortress Erebouni has remained since 782 BCE. The City-Fortress was unearthed, a few sections of the structure were fortified and reestablished, and the post was transformed into an open-air Museum. A cuneiform engraving affirms that the city was worked by Argishti I the King of Urartu in 782 BCE. Most of the post was worked from crude blocks. The stronghold was surrounded by solid dividers in a few spots worked in three lines.

The sanctuary of God Khaldi involved a vital place in the fortification. The dividers of the sanctuary were brightened with ious frescos. Archeologists have discovered monster karasses pitches for the capacity of wine covered in the ground. Pottery, potter's haggles articles utilized as a part of regular day to day existence were additionally uncovered amid unearthings. There is an enormous accumulation of ancient rarities, sups, jugs, bronze wrist trinkets, glass, agate dabs and numerous different things that enlighten us regarding the life of the stronghold, the tastes and propensities for its tenants. The working of the Museum that houses 12,235 displays was developed by designers Baghdasar Arzoumanian and Shmavon Azatian and stone carver A. Harutiunian.
