About Saida
Saida is the capital city of Saida Province, Algeria. The town’s website online has been of military significance ever since the Romans built a castle there. Saida turned into a stronghold of Abd al-Qadir, the Algerian national chief, who burned the city as French forces approached it in 1844. Modern Saida become based as a French army outpost in 1854 and as soon as housed a regiment of the French Foreign Legion. Its boom was stimulated through the arrival of the Oran-Bechar railway in 1862.
In 2005 the population become 158,856 population. It is nicknamed the city of waters, due to its ample underground springs. The place is forested and the principle products of the town are cereals, wool, leather-based and bottled mineral waters.Saida is placed in north-western Algeria, at the southern slopes of the Tell Atlas mountain range on the northern edge of the High Plateaus. The town lies on the proper bank of the Wadi Saida, blanketed by way of wooded mountains on the other shore that upward push steeply from the valley ground to an elevation of some 4,000 ft.
