Trabzon
About Trabzon
Trabzon is a city on the Black Sea shoreline of northeastern Turkey and the capital of Trabzon Province. Trabzon, situated on the authentic Silk Road, turned into a mixture of religions, dialects and culture for quite a long time and an exchange door to Persia in the southeast and the Caucasus toward the northeast. The Venetian and Genoese traders paid visits to Trebizond amid the medieval period and sold silk, material and woolen texture; the Republic of Genoa had an imperative vendor state inside the city considered Leonkastron that assumed a job to Trebizond like the one Galata played to Constantinople.
Trabzon shaped the premise of a few states in its long history and was the capital city of the Empire of Trebizond somewhere in the range of 1204 and 1461. Amid the early present day time frame, Trabzon, as a result of the significance of its port, again turned into a point of convergence of exchange to Persia and the Caucasus. Before the city was established as a Greek settlement the zone was commanded by Colchian and Chaldian clans.
It is conceivable that the settlement causes of Trabzon return to these clans. The Hayasa, who had been in struggle with the Central-Anatolian Hittites in the fourteenth century BCE, are accepted to have lived in the zone south of Trabzon. Later Greek creators made reference to the Macrones and the Chalybes as local people groups. One of the prevailing Caucasian gatherings toward the east were the Laz, who were a piece of the government of the Colchis, together with other related Georgian people groups.
