About Izmir
Izmir is a metropolitan city in the western limit of Anatolia and the third most crowded city in Turkey, after Istanbul and Ankara. It is the second most crowded city on the Aegean Sea after Athens, Greece. Izmir's metropolitan territory reaches out along the remote waters of the Gulf of Izmir and inland toward the north over the Gediz River delta; toward the east along an alluvial plain made by a few little streams; and to a somewhat more tough landscape in the south. Izmir prides itself with its bustling calendar of exchange fairs, presentations and congresses.
