About Singapore Zoo Night Safari
No matter what, if you are in Singapore, then you just cannot let the opportunity of Night Safari go by. Singapore Zoo was the first in the world to introduce the concept of Night Safari. It was thrown open to people in the year 1994. Covering an area of nearly 40 hectares by the side to Singapore Zoo, Night safari currently houses 1040 animals of 120 species. The animals are shown by lighting the area with lights resembling moonlights. The brightness of the lights are slightly higher than full moonlight but are kept in under a level so as to not disturb the nocturnal animals. The safari is conducted on specified paths that are separated from the animal shelters by natural barrier. The natural surroundings that are created lets the animals roam around freely. There are many cultural shows too that are organized like tribal dance, animal shows and fire eating demonstration.
