Graz, the second largest city in Austria, is the capital of federal state of Styria. With six major universities and nearly 50,000 students, Graz is sometimes referred to as the 'University City'. The main attraction of the city is an area called 'Old Town'. This small and wonderful district of Graz seems unruffled with all the modernization happening around it. It sedately carries on its old world charm reverberated by buildings belonging to different eras. The 'Old Town' area was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1999. The other attractions is the 'Murinsel', the island of steel that is situated in the river mur and Kunsthaus, the house of modern art.
